- Description
The Gresham area took on the look of a battle field when armored personnel carriers (APC's) patroled the perimeter of the Alexian Brothers Novitiate near Gresham. The National Guard ordered the heavy equipment in late Saturday under direction of Governor Lucey to tighten up security for expected trouble Saturday night. Trouble did occur when heavy shooting broke out between Indians inside the novitiate and unidentified persons on snowmobiles whithin the perimeter.
