This folder contains mostly personal and professional correspondence with Increase Allen Lapham in the year 1866. These letters pertain to a variety of Lapham's interests, particularly engineering, geology, botany, and especially meteorology. A large number of letters discuss various surveys and canal projects, such as the Rock River Canal. Newspaper clippings, graphs, and other documents in this folder include: "Expenses of Parit [sic] Exposition"; "Resolution to Employ Increase Allen Lapham for the Purpose of Examining the Dam"; "Barometer and Thermometer during the Cold term Jan. 1866. From Observations Made at the Dudley Observatory"; "Maps of Town 12, Range 16"; "Estimate of the Crops of Wisconsin"; "The Death of General Cass."
