Oral history interview with Robert G. Saeman about the family lumber business started in 1876 by Robert's Grandpa Saeman who had a tavern in his office to serve food and drink to customers. The business had four different office locations. Business began slowly due to people still cutting their own wood. Accepted bartering system in the early days. Had a contract with the Joliet State Prison in Joliet, Illinois.
