This folder contains correspondence, primarily professional, sent and received by Increase Allen Lapham in 1858. The correspondence covers a variety of Lapham's interests and pursuits; including botany, agriculture, minerals and mining, astronomy, geology, and meteorology. Several of the correspondences continue and conclude Lapham's struggle to be paid for his work on the grasses of the United States. Many of the documents and articles, as well as some correspondences, follow the incorporation and establishment of the Kilbourn University.
