This folder is comprised primarily of reports and press releases pertaining to SNCC's actions in the state of Georgia. Events which transpired in the cities of Americus and Albany are covered the most extensively, but there are also a fair number of documents relating to Cairo, Illinois, and Cambridge, Maryland. Highlights include a discussion paper entitled "Civil Liberties and Free Speech as Essential Weapons in the Struggle For Civil Rights;" "A Report on Student Nonviolent Activities in Southern Illinois;" the "Agreement on Eliminating Segregation in the City of Cambridge;" and the "Statement Submitted by SNCC to the Platform Committee of the National Democratic Convention."
