February-March 1964 WATS line calls. This folder contains a day-by-day log of telephone calls placed from and received at COFO headquarters. Major events covered in this period of time include the murder of Louis Allen in Liberty, Mississippi; shootings of several civil rights workers and students at Jackson State; Archie Curtis and his companion's beatings by hooded individuals in Natchez; Dick Gregory's jailing in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Freedom Day across Georgia; and a report of contracts (including prices) out on civil rights workers' lives in Canton; and an endless list of arrests, jailings, and beatings of people trying to register to vote.
