This photograph was published in the La Crosse Tribune on December 2, 1962. The photograph's caption reads: "Patrons of the La Crosse Public Library now have use of a parking lot located at the rear of the Main Library. The lot has space for more than 30 automobiles. The entrance and exit for the lot are on 8th Street. The parking lot was made possible through a gift to the library by Mrs. Reuben N. Trane. Persons using the library are invited by members of the staff to use the lot during library hours, which are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday." On the envelope housing the negative is written: "November 28, 1962. Parking lot so. of main library."
