This photograph of the July 4th, 1885, parade gives a good view of the west side of Main Street, between Wisconsin Avenue and Market Street. The Marshall for the day (on horse) is Mr. Fred C. Stemm. The band is the National Band. Members of the band are, from left to right: First Row: Henry Wynn, James S. Barr, George Vollmer, E. C. Cook. Second Row: John Langin, Frank Wells, C. G. Schultz, James Hoye. Third Row: C. E. Dewey, F. L. Rawson, John J. English, Henry Marsh. Fourth Row: Charles Parker (bass drum), Orson Barber (snare drum).
