Map showing the American colonies and land east of the Mississippi River. Prominent cities, forts, Native American land, mountains, rivers and lakes are all shown and labeled. A few routes, possibly roads, are shown with solid lines connecting settlements and cities. One double line, depicting an important road or route, extends south from Boston to St. Augustine in Florida. An illustration of mountains surmounted by three palm trees decorates the title cartouche.
