This photograph shows the Community House hotel on Seeboth and Ferry. A small poster on the front of the building advertises the Olson Shops. A large advertisement on the side of the building reads, "Kingsbury Pale Beer. Fit for a king."
Jul 59 / Upper and lower, photo's 1959, of what was then known as the Community House, located at 117 East Seeboth Street, or the southeast corner of East Seeboth and South Ferry Streets. One of the pioneer buildings of Milwaukee. Built in the 1840's at what at that time was the peak, point or apex of Walker's Point. Razed May 1961. Built by John G. Barr, and was known as Barr's Hotel. The two story building shown at the right was built at a later date. Hotel was flop-house for many years. / page 25 B-41 / B42 / Wudtke Collection
