An Akha woman is seated with a close-up view of her decorated headdress in the Akha village of Sobloi (LS-359, PD 8952) in Houa Khong Province. The headdress begins with a bamboo frame covered with indigo dyed cloth. It is then decorated with silver bands, trinkets, silver coins, small silver bells, yarn and silver tassels and strings of white glass beads. There are strands of white, red, green and yellow glass beads hanging from the sides of the headdress with small silver bells attached to the ends.
