This map of Superior is oriented with north to the upper left. Relief is shown by hachures and water depths are shown by soundings. Lake Superior and bays are labeled. The back of the map includes portion of a handwritten letter that reads: ""Have been at work, tracing ownership diligently for future purchases of coadunation(?), to which it will come. Owners will give right of way along Street, but do(?) must(?) to giving a through lots, - I have several deeds for Easement of the of the Street.- Mr. Bradhsaw is about finishing a map of the Superior and N. Western road and I shall then go out on the line via Duluth & Komoka. Procuring all"". The signature is cut off the map.
