- Description
An iron bridge, called Atwater Bridge, crossed the Milwaukee River at current Capitol Drive. Built in 1885, it was replaced by a concrete bridge in 1927. Mary Sheldon is standing on the west river bank. The chimney from the old cement factory can be seen on the left, behind her.
