It shows borders, cities, settlements, Native American land and villages, forts, routes of several explorers, mountains, rivers, and lakes. Numerous decorative illustrations dot the map, featuring animals, villages, ships, canoes, and Native Americans hunting, farming and performing ceremonies. Annotations appear throughout the map, offering information on discoveries, explorers and geographical features.
