Houses, tenements, schools, blacksmith shops, shoe shops, and harnes shops are identified. Inset maps, with brief business directories, of Bloomington, Muscoda, Boscobel, Platteville, Lancaster, Cassville, and numerous other towns, together with numerous illustrations of local buildings in Boscobel, Lancaster, and Platteville are included.
