Newspaper Clipping Description: Black and white group portrait of 43 students and the teacher. Front Print: Page 14, Among Our Letters... THE HUB CITY SCHOOL, 1915, Richland Observer, Richland Center, Wis., Dear Sir: Quite often your paper prints pictures, and stories of old scenes. I was very much impressed with the one of the Soules Creek School, which was located near Hub City. I am submitting a photo of the Hub City School taken in October 1915 (60 years ago). I was the teacher at 17 years of age, salary $50.00 per month, $12.50 per week. That year the total enrollment was 72, with an average attendance of 43. (There are 43 on the photo.) The total enrollment was swelled because many of the young farmers enrolled during the winter months. I attended the 60th anniversary of my graduation from the Richland County Normal School on October 5. I was the only member present of that class of 31 men and women.
