This folder contains a wealth of information on plans, programs, and the events of Freedom Summer. Included are: SNCC plans for East Coast and Southern events in February 1964. Chronology of events in Canton, Mississippi, in February 1964. Forman's letter about a proposed Hattiesburg Freedom Day. An analysis of laws being considered by the Mississippi State Legislature designed to thwart the civil rights movement and a press release about them. A list of incidents in Greenwood, Mississippi, from 1962-March 1964. A letter to President Johnson, appealing for federal protection for civil rights workers.
