Title supplied by cataloger.; "Purchased 1919" -- upper left margin.; "Loaned by the American Geographical Society to the Peace Conference at Versailles, 1918-1919." -- stamped on front and verso.; "Major Laurence Martin, G.S." -- handwritten in lower margin. Lawrence Martin worked for the Military Intelligence Division following World War I, including assisting in the redrawing of boundaries after the war. After the war, he served as the Geographer in the Office of the Geographer at the Department of State before heading the Geography & Maps Division of the Library of Congress, a position he held until 1946
