- Description
As evidenced by the tracks and the overhead lines, the corner of Jackson and Wisconsin Sts. (now E. Wisconsin Ave.) was definitely one spot where the streetcar "bent" back in 1911. When this picture was taken, a cigar seller, tailoring company and shoeshine shop were located on the northeast corner. The Milwaukee Gas Light Co. was nearby; the firm first operated in 1852, when illuminating gas was little known or used.
