This folder mostly contains the professional correspondences of Increase Allen Lapham from January to June, 1869. Lapham frequently bought, sold, and traded both specimens and data with other scientists of his day. This can be seen in his letters regarding the "Wisconsin Meteorite" as well as letters of thanks from institutions to which he donated various items such as maps. Lapham was also in frequent contact with college educators, politicians as well as business people. This is reflected in many letters with various United States departments, railroad operators, and colleges.
