"Th. Engels, 1869" is carved on one of the stones beneath the cornice of this building. Theodore Engels was born in Germany in 1819, came to the United States in 1845, and settled in MIneral Point in 1847. This building is included in the Wisconsin Architecture and History Inventory under record number 59666. http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/ahi/
