Tintype of Geo Day & Margaret Day Pratt George Day (1825-1895) was born in county Durham, England; he and his wife, Rachel Wallace/ Wallis Day, came to Mineral Point in 1854, where he was a blacksmith for many years. The Days were the parents of nine daughters, the second oldest was Margaret, born in England in 1854. Margaret married Martin Pratt in 1885.
