Description

City scene of wooden-frame, two story structure grocery store. Warehouse and loading dock visible in back at far right. Awning over front door and wooden sidewalk. Barrels on right side of building.

Wm. Steinmeyer Co. Southeast corner of N. 4th Street and W. Juneau Avenue. This building was erected in 1836. In 1865, John C. Bauer, began their first grocery business in this old building. In 1877, a new two story brick building to the place of this old frame structure.
