- Description
Map of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River showing French and English cities and villages, trading posts, Indian villages and tribes, portages, forts, waterfalls or cataracts, and the (then) border of Canada (shown by a double dotted line below the Great Lakes). French and Indian parishes, significant river crossings, important travel information and routes, and even beaver hunting areas are also prominently displayed. A pictorial key sits in the upper right corner of the map itself. Lists of Native American tribes, trade goods, birds, fish, plants, and insects border the map on three sides.
