- Description
This photograph shows S 1st St between Washington and Mineral Streets. The road is curved due to non-alignment. Unitz Die Works can be seen at right.
Jul 59 / Streets - S 1st Wudtke Collection / Upper and lower photos show "jogs" along South First Street, due to non-alignment. The above is that between Washington and Mineral Streets, this section was still un-opened in 1845, and later on when the street was graded through these two sections did not line up, either due to fault of surveying or other reasons. These jogs, also occur at South Barclay, South Second and South Third Streets, but much less noticeable.
