- Description
Color lithograph postcard (ca. 1940) of the dairy condensary plant on West James Street. The Dry Milk Company of New York opened the facility in late 1923. The company was sold to Borden's in the 1930s, and the plant continued operation until the late 1950s when the popularity of dried milk products waned with the increasing prevalence of household electric refrigerators making it easier to keep fresh milk year-round.
