- Description
This image is from Volume 1 of 100 years of pictorial & descriptive history of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, while the quoted description is from Volume 2. "The bottom picture is a view looking North on First and Second streets at the intersection with East Grand Avenue. The Wood County National Bank is at the right and the Gleue building described on previous page on the left. In the middle of the picture is the Flat-iron building. In the center and in the distance is the Library building. On the right, after passing the Wood County Bank building, is a frame store building that was formerly the drug store of F. J. Wood and Bro. It was moved to this location by F. J. Wood when he built the Wood Block. The next small building was at one time the residence of Horace Sweeney and also served as the office for his livery stable located in the rear. The other buildings are the same as the early print shown on page 29 of the buildings between 111 South 2nd Street and 181 South."
