James Monroe Keys, (1858-1924). Born: 26 Feb 1858, Buena Vista Township, Richland County, Wisconsin to James Daniel Keys (1825-1901) & Mariah Boswell Miller Keys (1821-1906). Siblings: Philip M. Keys (1847-1861), Jacob K. Keys (1852-1854), Charles Bingley Keys (1855-1937), George D. Keys (1862-1868), Eliza Amanda ‘Lida’ Keys McCorkle (1864-1930). Graduated from Sextonville High School. 1870 worked for A.H. Krouskop. Married: 2 October 1888 to Rena Belle Parfrey Keys (1869-1950). Children: Freda L. Keys Winterble, (1890-1971). Served in Richland Center as an Alderman, Mayor, and Postmaster, on the Board of Education, treasurer of the Richland County Agricultural Association, member of the 1st Presbyterian Church. Died: 2 Oct 1924, of Bright’s disease, at his home in Richland Center. Buried: Richland
