Large stone, two and a half story mansion. Three story tower over front entrance. Wrought iron roof crest. Second floor oriel with domed roof and cupola in center of photo. Multiple finials on gables and roof. Driveway leading up to front entrance.
Residence of Emil Schandein. 2400 W. Wisconsin Avenue. Northwest corner of N. 24th Street and W. Wisconsin Avenue. Built in 1889. This beautiful home was razed in 1928 to make room for the County Emergency Hospital. The Hospital is now the Downtown Medical and Health Service.
